2010-03-12 21:00 - URGENT: World Junior Fencing Championships, Baku
Posted by adminmore from same (International)
InternationalI have had some queries about the amount of funding for World Juniors and have ascertained that the FIE have made available funding for 2 fencers per country to attend World Junior Champs in Baku.  The funding for New Zealand equals 2333CHF per person which is a little over  NZ$3000.00.  This money comes to us through the Oceania allocation.  Although only 2 fencers are funded we may be able to arrange a similar amount of funding for a third fencer to attend.

PLEASE NOTE: Entries are due 15 March 2010.

Bookings in Baku are hard to come by over this period so I have asked Australian Fencing Federation to pencil in a booking for any New Zealand fencers at the same hotel as the Australian team will be staying at.  They have done so.

While FeNZ selection policies apply it is possible that FeNZ will consider relaxing the requirements, as they did last year, since the FIE are making a significant subsidy to our fencers in order to ensure their participation.
