2005-06-01 10:23 - Need for fencers to have Therapuetic Use Exemptions highlighted:
Posted by Brillmartmore from same (FeNZ)
FeNZA recent ruling made by Sport Disputes Tribunal in a NZ sport doping infringement highlights the iissue.

Fencers are reminded that the taking or  use of  performance enhacing substances are; banned by the rules of our sport, of Fencing New Zealand's Anti-doping policy, and  that it is the fencer's responsibility to ensure they comply with the anti doping rules.

For athletes who have a medical condition requiring them to use banned substances they should identify if they require a Therapuetic Use Exemption prior to participation in competition.

A recent doping ruling made by the Sports Disputes Tribunal highlights this. See the President's Corner for the Media release summary of the SDT ruling or click this link http://www.fencing.org.nz/articles.php?id=31
