2007-09-17 11:29 - 2007 World Veteran Championships, Sydney
Posted by Brillmartmore from same (International)
InternationalThe iconic Sydney 2000 Olympic Flame cauldron stands immediately outside the Olympic Park fencing venue and the flame was rekindled. An impressive backdrop for the excitement and drama of events as they unfolded, moment by moment, on the pistes.

This is the very first time that New Zealand has participated in a World Veteran Championship. Congratulations to Graham Payne and Chris Nokes who competed in the Men's Epee Category A (50-59 age group) at the 2007 World Veteran Championships and also to Martin Brill, our FIE  referee for the event that was held at the Olympic Park, Sydney over the week end of 14th - 16th Sepetember.

Our thanks and apreciation goes to the Federation Internationale d'Escrime and the Australian Fencing Federation for hosting the Very Friendly Championships.

New Zealand results:
Men's Epee A (50-59) 36 fencers from 13 countries, G Payne 13th, C Nokes 25th
