Effective immediately for FIE events at sabre - the rule t75 regarding interpreting execution of the simple attack, attack with a step-forward lunge, and a compound attack are slightly modified to clarify when the straightening of the arm should be considered from “the beginning of the straightening arm”. Also hits must now arrive “at the latest when the front foot hits the piste” – deletion of “or immediately afterwards”.

From January 2009 at foil the inclusion of part of the bib as valid targe. The bib below a horizontal line 1.5-2cm beneath the chin will have to have a conductive surface.
FIE Statute 1.2.7 now requires member federations to advise the FIE of all bans, suspensions, expulsions, disqualifications or other penalties issued to FIE license holders. FeNZ will have to examine this in the light of current disciplinary procedure review.
