Well done to our fencers - they Stood Tall Full Cadet Results and the Junrio Results IN BRIEF Women's Junior Epee - 52 fencers: Wai Ling Chan with 4V out of 6 was seeded 16th in to the DE. A bye followed by a victory 15-12 over Sakineh Nouri (IRI) set up a Trans-Tasman challenge against No1 seed Diana Sher (AUS) in the DE16. The eventual bronze medalist won 15-12 and Wai Ling's final placing was 12th.
Men's Junior Foil - 61 fencers: Daniel Garelja with 3V out of 6 was seeded 32nd, and drew Aditya Baskara (INA) who came out strongly, defeating Daniel 15-6. Daniels final placing 38th.
Junior Men's Epee - 76 fencers: Lucian Nightingale took 3V out of 6 and was seeded 34th in to the DE64 where he took out Ajay Kumar (INA) 15-11but then drew No2 seed Darkhan Yedilkanuly (KAZ). Lucian was not able to gain domination and lost 15-8. Lucian took a final placing of 28th. Further down the pools Sheldon Ogilvie took just 1V out of 6, not enough to qualify for the DE. Sheldon Ogilvie's final placing 66th.
Asian Junior Champs Men's Epee started 5th Oct, total 76 fencers from 24 countries. We had Lucian Nightingale and, the youngest fencer in this event, Sheldon Ogilvie stepping up to participate. After their performances in the Cadets we now wish them all the best for the Juniors - Kia Kaha, Stand Tall.
ASIAN CADET FENCING CHAMPS RESULTS: Girl's Epee 18 countries 42 fencers: Wai Ling Chan after the pool ranked 2nd and fenced all the way to a final place 5th. Boy's Epee 19 countries 50 fencers: Lucian Nightingale ranked 20th after the pool final place 15th Sheldon Ogilvie ranked 21st after the pool final place 23rd Boy's Foil 21 countries 61 fencers: Daniel Garelja after the pool ranked 8th, placed 18th after loosing in the top 32.
