2013-03-30 14:21 - Epee Camp Programme 2013
Posted by Lambviccmore from same (General)
 High Performance Epee Camps 2013

A full programme of high performance epee camps has been scheduled for 2013 and epee fencers from all centres are invited to attend.

The Junior Camps are designed for those new to epee or early in their epee fencing career, and are open to all age groups. The focus is on developing and improving technical ability and application of skills through bouting. For those without their own epees, there will be epees available.

The Senior Camps are designed for more experienced epee fencers who are targetting international competitions such as annual Asian Zone Championships (Cadet, Junior, U23, Senior), Youth Olympics and Senior Commonwealth Championships in 2014, Junior Commonwealths in 2015 and Olympics in 2016. The focus is on developing advanced skills and bringing together an epee squad that will provide the basis of teams for events nationally and internationally.

The camps will be coached by Paul Hentschel, and will take place at the Tanera Park, Brooklyn, Wellington, and will work in with local competitions to maximise fencing opportunities.

All camps are for 2 days and will run from 10.00am 4.00pm Saturday (may be later when attending competition) and Sunday. The programme will consist of a mix of individual lessons, group work, bouting and competition.

Costs will be:
Seniors  $100.00 per camp for fencers from the Greater Wellington area, and $30.00 for those from outside Greater Wellington

Juniors  $80.00 per camp for fencers from Greater Wellington
and $30.00 for those from outside Greater Wellington

and includes entry into competitions where these are part of the camp programme.
