Fencing New Zealand would like to appoint a suitable candidate to lead the development and implementation of its athlete National Development Programme.

The Programme

Fencing New Zealand is committed to establishing and implementing a National Development Programme that will enable our fencers to achieve international success in both age group and open events at Oceania, Commonwealth, Asian Zone, World Cup, World Championship and Olympic level.

The programme will:

  • Identify, develop and support young athletes that have the potential and commitment to achieve success internationally in both individual and team events
  • Develop and support age group and senior fencers who are already competing internationally and are committed to improving their performance at targeted international tournaments in both individual and team events
  • Establish positive partnerships that secure funding and support in kind to help deliver the programme and reduce the financial burden on athletes.

The Draft Terms of Reference for the development of the Programme are available here: Development programme

The Director

The Board would like to make an appointment for an initial 18-month period to 31 July 2024 (with the option of extension by mutual agreement).
