Fencing New Zealand (FeNZ) is excited to announce a series of referee seminars will be held for referees, athletes, and coaches in the week prior to the 2024 Commonwealth Youth and Cadet Championships in Christchurch.

The seminars aim to educate and improve refereeing at all levels across New Zealand.

The session content will include:
• Introduction
• Responsibilities of referees and fencers
• Hand Signals
• Overview and correct interpretation of FIE Rules (technical, material and organisation rules)
• Offences and penalties
• Q&A.

The sessions will be held at Piwakawaka Fencing Club in the Ballantyne Room at the Chateau on the Park Hotel, 189 Deans Ave, Riccarton Christchurch from 4.30 pm to 8.00 pm on two consecutive nights https://maps.app.goo.gl/h6D66BsjWTHbgUSw7

This opportunity has arisen from our collaboration with the Australian Fencing Federation Federation and supported by Oceania Fencing Confederation.
Ms. Knysch will be stopping in Australia first on her way to Christchurch for the Commonwealth Junior and Cadet Championships in New Zealand.
