Fencing New Zealand is pleased to confirm that Olympic Solidarity and ONOC have approved the Fencing New Zealand National High-Performance Training and Development Programme 2026.
The programme will deliver a series of domestic training and development initiatives to support New Zealand’s elite and emerging fencers across all weapons — foil, épée and sabre — while also strengthening the national coaching capability.
Key elements of the programme include:
- National Training Camps (Senior / U20 / U17)
High-quality domestic camps to prepare elite and emerging fencers for major international competitions. - Development and Talent Camps (U17 and Youth)
Camps aimed at strengthening the development pathway and identifying promising athletes for progression into the national programme. - Coach Development Workshops
Workshops to build coaching capability and support consistent technical development nationwide.
Fencing New Zealand acknowledges the support of Olympic Solidarity and ONOC in enabling this important initiative for the growth of fencing in New Zealand.
We would also like to acknowledge Simon May for all her hard work in getting this application in and approved. An awesome achievement for the fencing community.
