The Youth Olympic Games will take place in Dakar, Senegal, in November 2026.
Fencing has been asked for an Expression of Interest for the Games - there are several steps for qualifying for the Games, and this is the first step.
In order to send in an EOI, we would like to know who would be interested in committing to trying to qualify for the event. You have to demonstrate that you would be competitive at the event to be selected by the NZOC. And this also depends on whether the FIE offer New Zealand a Quota place.
To qualify, you would have to demonstrate performances like a top 32 at World Championship Cadet event, and potentially other results at FIE Junior events (selection criteria has yet to be determined).
You have to be 17 years old on the 14th November 2026, and over 14 years old on 31 October 2026. You must be an NZ Citizen.
